2016-2017 FACILITY RENOVATIONS

Bahia School Age Program

 

 

Since late August of 2016, our child care facility and the Parks and Recreation program at James Kenney Park have been undergoing seismic retrofitting, installation of new siding, lighting and installation of ADA compliance requirements. As a result of this imminent and important work, BAHIA Inc. had to institute an emergency closure for both La Academia de Bahia, our part-time bilingual preschool and Bahia School Age Program. 

 

In order to continue services for our current families, Academia children were integrated into our full-time program, Centro VIDA. We also made a rental agreement with Berkeley Unified for the use of three classrooms at Thousand Oaks Elementary School to house our Bahia School Age Program.

 

Due to delays in the renovation, our agreement has been extended to March 31, 2017.  As soon as we have more specific information regarding our return to our facility, we will notify parents and our community of our first day of opening.  While this project is temporarily an inconvenience to our staff, parents, and children – we believe in the long term as this will be beneficial to BAHIA for many years to come!  If you have any questions please let me know at beatriz@bahiainc.com.
