Centro VIDA Children's Center is a bilingual (Spanish & English) toddler/preschool program providing subsidized and full-cost preschool care for 64 children ages 2 to 5 years old. VIDA, as we often and fondly refer to our program is our flagship program that was started in 1975.  BAHIA provides a play-based curriculum that is age-appropriate and meets the developmental needs of children, and follows the Learning Foundations. Our classroom and teachers provide opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration in a warm, caring and bilingual learning environment.

SOL DE BERKELEY-After School Programs

Sol de Berkeley is BAHIA’s afterschool program serving children ages 4.9 to 10 years old. We provide after-school care during the academic year, full-time care on school holidays, and a full-day summer program filled with engaging activities.
Spanish and English are seamlessly integrated into daily activities, fostering bilingual communication between children, teachers, and tutors. Through immersive language modeling, we create an environment where children experience the value of being bilingual and develop confidence as Spanish-English communicators.

Through partnerships with the City of Berkeley, Berkeley Unified School District, Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley’s Public Service Center- BUILD tutors, Sol also offers mentorships, mental health support, individualized academic support helping school-age children reach or exceed grade-level proficiency in reading and math. Our goal is to provide a nurturing, enriching space where children grow academically, socially, and confidently in a supportive bilingual setting.

Through our partnership with Berkeley Unified School District, the following Berkeley schools offers transportation to our center on a limited basis;
 

  • Sylvia Mendez Elementary 

  • Rosa Parks Elementary 

  • Thousand Oaks Elementary 

  • Berkeley Arts Magnet
